“Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” is that wonderful song that comes to mind whenever I’m emotionally and financially bdown. I always make sure I listen to it every morning before heading to work and whenever I’m communicating to God through prayers and supplications. God has been so good to me, honestly.
They are Australian contemporary worship collective originating from Hillsong Church, whose band members are involved in Hillsong Church services and also play for the church as well. It was sang by Hillsong United in the year 2013 from thw album “Hillsong: Let Hope Rise.”
However, this is a worship song about faith and trusting God even in challenging times. The song uses the image of the ocean to represent life’s difficulties and the unknown.
The singers feel like they are stepping into deep waters, a place where they could sink but they trust that God will keep them safe.
The “oceans” symbolize moments in life where we feel scared, lost or unsure of what to do. The lyrics talk about calling out to God and believing that He will guide and strengthen us.
